Award for 'Not all is black and white'

This picture of the grazing zebras received Highly Commended at the UKCPS exhibition at the RBSA in Birmingham and I will be demonstrating there on Friday 2nd October. Of the 3 pictures I am exhibiting this is the one I thought least likely to win anything. You just never know.

Well done Pauline! ;)

It often feels like fate plays tricks - however if you look at works which wins awards you can really start to see a pattern although not necessarily one which explains why all works which win prizes! ;)

I can certainly see that it has some of the characteristics of work which typically tends to do well in any art exhibition - such as strong colour and good contrast.

Congratulations Pauline, it's a lovely picture! I'm looking forward to seeing it, along with all the others, when I go up to Birmingham next week.

Pauline my sincere apologies :) I knew you weren't Pat but my fingers think they know better. They are very used to just getting on with it when my brain takes a break!!

David (hubby) and I will be driving to Birmingham on Friday afternoon to visit the exhibition on Saturday. (don't think we'll get there in time to see your demo on Friday unfortunately) I look forward to seeing all the entries 'in the flesh'
